

Hazel Doyal Luckett Hazel Elois Doyal Luckett went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2008, at the age of 82. She was born on July 29, 1925, in Mason, Texas. Hazel moved to Austin after graduating from high school and was employed as an executive secretary, including positions with retired Supreme Court Justice John Garwood, and the Texas Landscape Architect Board. Hazel and Bob Luckett, Jr. were married on March 4, 1950 in Austin, Texas. Hazel was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed flower gardening, painting Texas landscapes, playing cards with friends, and especially being with her grandchildren at her home and family lake house. Hazel said, "Having grandchildren has been one of the happiest times in my life; I've treasured every minute." In later years she and Bobby participated in Cosmopolitan Club activities and travel. Hazel was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed her sorority friends and functions. She was a faithful and long-time member of University Avenue Church of Christ. Hazel's friends and family were very important to her and she will be greatly missed. She was a blessed woman. Hazel is survived by her loving husband Bob Luckett, Jr.; daughter, Beverly Bayer and her husband Mike of Austin; son, Bobby Luckett and his wife Karen of Temple; seven dearly loved grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 12 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
