Hollace Bowden

Memorial Services for Hollace Bowden, 85, are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista, Texas, with the Rev. Gary Olsen officiating. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Mr. Bowden was born on April 6, 1923 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to the late Rev. Robert and Alta Bowden. He passed away on November 30, 2008 in Conroe, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II. Mr. Bowden worked as a realtor and builder in Conroe, TX and Houston, TX before moving to Lago Vista, TX. Mr. Bowden has resided in Lago Vista for the past 20 years. He was employed at Highland Lakes Realty. He was an active community member serving on the Lago Vista Library Board, the Airport Board, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Lago Vista Lions Club, and the Monday Nighters. Mr. Bowden was actively involved in organizing the annual International Bicycle Race and the Lago Vista Clean-up/ Burn day. He was a member of Rolling Hills Community Church. He was honored as being named Mr. Lago Vista. Mr. Bowden is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette. He is survived by his son Michael Bowden and wife Evelyn, Conroe, TX, daughter Holly Decker and husband Ron, Jacksonville, TX., sister LaVaughn (Vonnie) Goss and husband Jim, Roswell, NM, brother Don Bowden and wife Dot, Greensboro, NC, daughter-in-law Sandra Bowden, Conroe, TX. Grandchildren: Nicole Wilson, Ryan Bowden, Eric Bowden, Conroe, TX, Monica Gaskin, Rocky Decker, Jacksonville, TX, Jason Decker, NC., special niece Carol Bowden Hodgin, The Woodlands, TX , and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be donated to Rolling Hills Community Church, Lago Vista, Texas in memory of Hollace Bowden.
