Ida Mae Needham Giebelstein, 95, of Austin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Flatonia, Texas to Marion Needham and Marian McMullen Needham.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 48 years, Albert Giebelstein; daughter, Gale (Sissie) Hickman; stepchildren, Denise Tilson and Daryl Giebelstein; grandchildren, Keith Hickman, Deana Haas and husband, Rob, and Elizabeth Chapman and husband, Michael; great-grandchild, Lindsay Blackwood and husband, Wayne; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Michael Blackwood and Kaylyn Blackwood; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chun Jin and the Staff of South Austin Hospital and also to Hospice Austin for all of their care and support.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Lane Northcut and Pastor Bryan Hall officiating. Interment will follow the services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
