Eddie “Irene” McDaniel, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 6, 2014. Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Colonel Henry B. McDaniel Jr. her parents, Melvin and Virtice Sloan and her brother Melvin “Dusty” Sloan.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Corley, sons Garry McDaniel and his wife Lauren and Randy McDaniel and his wife Elizabeth. She was grandmother to Rebecca Kramm, and her husband Lucas, Ian and Julia McDaniel, and Rachel and Allison McDaniel. She had one great granddaughter Annabelle Kramm.
Irene was a Godly woman, a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the cornerstone of her family. She was beautiful, gracious and lived her life to the fullest.
She attended Mary Hardin Baylor and pursued a career in teaching for many years prior to meeting the man who was the love of her life. Once married, she devoted her time to her family and making the world a better place for all those who had the pleasure of meeting her.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, 10am at the Tarrytown United Methodist Church, 2601 Exposition Blvd, Austin.
