It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Irene Sanchez Ramirez who left this world peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. We thank the Lord for her peaceful departure at the golden age of 87 years.

Irene leaves behind a large and loving family, including her husband of 69 years, Sixto Cantu Ramirez. She is survived by their five children: Theresa Ramirez-Bailey (Bill Bailey), Linda Ramirez Rivas, Carlos S. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Lauren Bailey, Gregory Rivas (Crystal Rivas), Jonathan Rivas, Carlos A. Irene’s kitchen was the heart of the home—a place where memories were made, and every meal was seasoned with laughter, love, and tradition. She had a gift for turning even the simplest gathering into a celebration, always warm and welcoming to all who entered her home.
Whether she was leading la familia through the cherished tamale-making process, teaching us how to perfect her famous Thanksgiving dressing, or baking cookies with her great-grandchildren. Her kitchen was more than a place to cook—it was where generations came together, stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened. Many family members and friends were blessed to be recipients of her delicious meals. ¡Qué delicioso! Her legacy will forever be tasted in every bite and felt in every gathering.
Irene had a heart full of love and a spirit full of adventure. She cherished family vacations, which were more than just getaways; they were sacred traditions. She poured her heart into planning them; each one was filled with laughter, connection, and unforgettable memories. Whether we were exploring new places or simply enjoying each other’s company, Irene made every moment feel special.
Irene and Sixto found joy in the simple act of being together—and nowhere was that joy more alive than in their travels. Retirement opened the door to a new chapter, one filled with adventure, discovery, and the quiet magic of shared moments together.
Irene taught us that life is meant to be lived with open arms and an open heart. She showed us the importance of family, of friendship, and of making time to create memories that last a lifetime. Her legacy lives on in every story we tell, every photo we treasure, and every journey we take.
Rest in peace Irene, your love lives on in all of us.
