He worked as an engineer and was deeply committed to his profession.
Jack was actively involved in his church community and found great joy in serving others. He proudly served in the US Navy.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Francis Givens; mother, Patsy Mabel Givens; father, Jack Givens Sr.; and brothers, Fred Givens, Gary Givens, and Carlton Givens.
He is survived by his brother, Michael Givens (Adrilyn Givens); sons, Carlton Givens (Lynda Givens), Stanley Givens (Sherry Givens), and Sean Givens (Stacey Givens); grandchildren, Kyle Givens, Jeffery Givens, Tori Freeman (Cam Freeman), and Megan Paxton (Cory Paxton); and great-grandchildren Stetson Freeman, Isabella Valenzuela, and Karson Freeman.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He loved his wife Mary deeply, and we take comfort in knowing they are reunited. He will be remembered for his passion for classic oldies music — singing his favorite oldies at full volume — and for his love of flying.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, August 25, 2025, at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W William Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas 78749. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30am.
Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
There will be a luncheon for family and friends put on by the First Baptist Church, 104 S San Marcos St., Buda, TX 78610 for anyone who would like to attend.
