James, 78, died peacefully at home on September 24, 2009, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by many and remembered for his loving devotion to his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Davis; father, James Elmo Whited; granddaughter, Joyce Myra Whited; grandson, James Allan Claypool. James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Whited; three sons, Dennis, James and Kenneth; two daughters, Evelyn Ogrodny and Eunice Wilks all of Austin; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley Whited of Cedar Creek and Charles Whited of New Mexico. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Whited Jr., Kenneth Whited Jr., James Whited Jr., Matthew Wilks, Jacob Wilks and Brenda Whited. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 South Congress. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Upper Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, Texas.
