OBITUARY

Janet Kay Knippelmier

12 March, 1974 – 31 May, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home

Janet Kay Knippelmier, age 51, of Austin, TX passed away on May 30th 2025.

Born March 12th 1974 in Austin, TX Janet leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly, her father Gary, her brother David and sister-in-law Tracy: the light of her life, her treasured nephew Luke who affectionately called her AJ, cousin Lori, who was like a sister, along with her husband Kirk and their family, her Aunt Phyllis Britt, Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Al Wolk and many other cousins, and close wonderful friends. Janet believed in the promise of heaven with Jesus and now joins her other loved ones in heaven including her mother, Betty, niece Ava Knippelmier, her grandparents and other cherished family members who arrived before her.

Janet attended Westwood high school and Austin Community College in the Austin and Central Texas area where many of her close friends and family still reside. A natural caregiver, Janet was an exemplary person who was dedicated to helping others and spreading joy and laughter as she went. Janet held multiple positions in the hospitality industry and was always focused on helping others. For the last couple of years, she was focused on family, helping out her Dad and especially her nephew Luke. The night before she was called home, she had told her Dad how much she loved her life and was looking forward to the future, planning cruises, shopping adventures and travelling.

Janet was truly a joy to be around. With a heart full of compassion, she found her greatest purpose in helping others. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for everyone she met made a lasting impact on all of our lives.

She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated.
