She was born in Wakefield, Rhode Island on February 20, 1925. She has lived in Texas since 2004 and previously lived in Florida, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Jean married Theodore Scott in 1975 in Beverly, MA. She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Dodge of Juno Beach, FL and Judi Dodge of Austin. She is also survived by granddaughters Stephanie and Kristen and her brother Martin Smith of New Jersey.
Jean was active in the Girl Scouts, Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls and other philanthropic organizations in Massachusetts. She served in the WAVES during World War II, stationed in Washington, D.C. in the office of Naval History. Jean was a devoted community volunteer for many years and an active member of her Sunday School Class at First Methodist Houston.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jean to a charity of the giver’s choice.
