

Jeff was born on June 28, 1972 in Washington, Pennsylvania. He attended Beth Center High School. While in high school, he worked jobs as a lifeguard and a golf caddy at the local country club. Throughout his life, he would always share stories about his time as a caddy.
When he graduated in 1990, he received a Division I scholarship to play football at Lafayette College. Jeff later transferred to Washington & Jefferson College where he played linebacker- #69 on the field and #1 in your heart. He graduated with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Psychology.
After graduating college, Jeff spent about a year working for Coca Cola in Pennsylvania. When his best friend, David Morris, called from Austin in 1995 and suggested he move, Jeff jumped at the chance. He quit his job, got in his car and was in Austin two days later ready for a new adventure.
Jeff went on to make a career of Software Sales with various startups including Tiger Graph and MuleSoft. He was the consummate salesman with the gift of conversation and rubbing elbows with CEOs and CFOs.
He met his wife, Jennifer Matz Zamiska, in downtown Austin at Sullivan’s in 1998 and they married on November 9, 2001. They started an insurance agency together, Matz Insurance, in 2000. Jeff and Jennifer went on to have two lovely children, Gavin David and Makayla Lynn.
Jeff volunteered his time to coaching Gavin’s football team and Makayla’s soccer team. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and watching sports. He loved hanging out in Colorado and he had a passion for grilling. Jeff was the “King of Brisket” in the neighborhood and his wife fondly referred to him as “El Jefe.” Jeff was great at entertaining and never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always the person to offer his help anywhere he could.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Albert Zamiska. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jennifer Matz Zamiska; his two children, Gavin and Makayla; his mother, Nancy Hill Zamiska; brothers, Jason and Justin Zamiska and sister, Jessica Zamiska Vojacek.
A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corely-Fish funeral home at 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas on Sunday, January 12 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
