Jenelle Gregg Bailey was born in Los Angeles on February 27, 1927 to Dean B. and Edna (Nimocks) Gregg. Her older siblings were the late Charlotte Gregg Ogilvie and the late Jessie Ashton Gregg. She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and later Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. It was there she met her future husband, Howard William Bailey, a drama professor. They were married in Florence, Italy in 1952 and made their home in Winter Park, Florida. After starting a family and while raising three sons, they moved to the Los Angeles area and were active in community theater, their shared passion. In the early 1980s, they moved back to Winter Park. After Howard’s death, Jenelle remained in Winter Park until she moved to Austin, Texas in 2009 to be near her two eldest sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two older siblings, and her husband. She is survived by eldest son Christopher Kean Bailey, his wife Carolyn Barlett Bailey, and their children Caitlin Grace Bailey and Graham Phillip Bailey, all of Austin, Texas; Ian Gregg Bailey of Austin, Texas; and Mark Lee Bailey, his wife Laura R. Sowatsky and their daughters Piper and Susannah of Evanston, Illinois. She is also survived by nephews Mike Ogilvie, Brent Ogilvie and their families; and dear family friend Leo Revi. She was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Winter Park, Florida.
