She graduated from McCallum High School in 1968. She attended Southwest Texas State University where she received her Bachelors in Education in 1972 and later her Masters in Education in 1988. She was married to loving husband, Tom Nelson Talley, on June, 27, 1970, and gave birth to their son, Todd Logan Talley, on August 2, 1979.
Throughout her 29 year teaching career Jetta taught many grades and spent the majority of her career at Hornsby Dunlap Elementary School in the Del Valle, Texas. Her joys were her traveling with her husband, spending time with her family, her wonderful group of friends, and her pets.
Jetta was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Finn and Doris Overstreet and her beloved sister, Janet Marie Finn. She is survived by her husband, Tom Talley, her son, Todd Talley, her granddaughter, Twyla Talley, her daughter-in-law, Megan Galt, her sister-in-law, Susan Phlegar, and brother-in-law, Wayne Phlegar.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas. The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to Texas Organ Sharing Alliance in Jetta’s name.
