

Jim Arnold of Punta Gorda, Florida, was born June 9, 1930, and died February 20, 2005. Jim arrived in Austin from Houston to establish an agency of the Aid Association for Lutherans. It was known as the Heart of Texas Jim Arnold Agency. He served Aid Association for Lutherans from 1963 to 1996. He was honored as General Agent of the Year in 1985; qualified for the General Agents and Management Award 11 times. He found great pleasure in watching the District Representatives and their families serve other families and Lutheran congregations in Central Texas. He and his family were members of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 34 years. He attended Texas A&M University and served in the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janie; son, Marc and Judy Arnold; daughter, Janie Kilmer; son David Arnold; and son John Arnold. After his retirement, he and Janie moved to Florida. He then served as a Regional Consultant for Capitol Funding Services for the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 West Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78757. Graveside services will be at Austin Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Danny Dean, Kevin Foreman, Ray Bauer, Tommy Pietsch, Michael Kennedy, and Weldon Mersiovsky.
