

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, Texas.
Jim was born in Lufkin, Texas, to John Nelson and Ruby Hill on January 14, 1950. Jim worked for many years driving trucks and operating heavy equipment, which he enjoyed until he retired.
Jim is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Nelson, his sister, Sophie Snelson, his daughter, Tammy Nelson, his father, John Nelson and his stepmother, Nina Nelson.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra Parks Nelson of Austin, Texas; his mother, Ruby Nelson of Cleveland, Texas; his daughters, Amanda Fryckland of North Zulch, Texas; Lalena Kelly of Austin, Texas; and Tina Nelson of Bayclif, Texas; his brothers, Jack Nelson and wife Norma of Portland, Texas; David Nelson of Damon, Texas; John Wayne Snelson and wife Ruby of Louisiana; and Rod Loper and wife Charlotte of Sargent, Texas; two grandsons, Destin Tuleya of The Woodlands, Texas, and Beaux Quinn of Bayclif, Texas, and one granddaughter, Allyannah Corbitt of Austin, Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills to assist the family with final expenses.
