Jimmy Lee Gonzales

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Lee Gonzales, Our beloved father, husband and grandfather who was peacefully called to heaven on May 13, 2025 at the age of 77. Born on October 28, 1947 in Austin, Tx, Jimmy was a devoted family man who loved his wife Lydia Gonzales and his children Adam Gonzales, Roy Gonzales and Jamie Gonzales.

Jimmy Gonzales will be remembered not just for his love for his family but also for his love of cars. Jimmy’s love for cars helped him establish a career in the Texas Army National Guard working on military vehicles until his retirement. He enjoyed passing on his knowledge of cars to his sons as well helping others with their mechanical needs. Jimmy mostly loved taking trips with his wife Lydia to various casinos where they would spend time together doing what made them happy. Jimmy was a veteran of the US Navy and Texas Army National Guard where he earned Honorable Discharges.

Jimmy is survived by his sons Adam Gonzales, Roy Gonzales and Jamie Gonzales; Sister Laura Gonzales, Brother Joel Gonzales; and his Grandchildren, Anita Gonzales Perez, Jonathan Gonzales, Chelsea Gonzales and Journey Gonzales. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Wife Lydia Gonzales, Brother Julian Gonzales, Mother Anita Gusman, Father Julian Gonzales and Step-Father Raul Gusman.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 4:00 PM and rosary service at 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702. A committal will occur Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

Dad will be missed by all that truly knew him. His unique outlook on life and his words of wisdom he always loved to share with those he cared about. We all love you Dad and will miss you.
