Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” Our beloved Jo Virgil certainly fulfilled this directive in her life as the moment she met Jesus as her Lord and Savior, she wanted everyone to know Him in the same way.
JO VIRGIL PATRONELLA BARZILLA born the 3rd of July 1932, in Houston, Texas, went to be with her Lord Saturday, the 17th of December 2011, in Austin, Texas. She attended Sacred Heart School, St. Agnes Academy and Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Our beloved “Nonni” was devoted to her husband and family until the end. Our Lord Jesus called her home after a valiant struggle against an aggressive brain tumor diagnosed in August. She is survived by her devoted and faithful husband of 61 years, Bernard A. Barzilla, her three daughters and their husbands, Brenda & Kerry Kennedy; Judy & Joe Regitz, and Patti & Jerry Garrett, her nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. We, her family, were blessed by her love and concern for each one of us and will miss her dearly. It is our promise to you, sweet Nonni, to continue the legacy of faith, hope and love.
Jo Virgil brought many friends to the Lord through her commitment to teaching bible studies, personal witness and serving the community as an Eucharistic Minister at Seton Hospital for many years.
Services will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 21st of December at Forest Park Westheimer Chapel with the Rev. Ed Banarsi, Chaplain at Seton NW Hospital, presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Agnes Academy or St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas.
