Joanne York

She is survived by her husband, Harold York, her children Nita English and husband Neal, Suzie Collins and husband Chip, and Jeff Swanson and wife Shea, her step-children Dana York and husband Dennis, Brad York and Judy Taylor, and Kim York. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, June 16th, at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, 7050 Village Center Dr., Austin. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be Sunday, June 15th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cook-Walden, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin.

She enjoyed singing in church choirs for over 50 years. Hobbies over her lifetime included writing, culminating in her book Letters to Papaw and sewing. Joanne was a devoted Christian whose greatest joy was happy family times. Harold and Joanne had 29 years to love, share their lives together, and cherished every moment of it. Harold and the family give thanks to God for the blessing of her wonderful life.
