John Edward Bargsley Sr.

John Edward Bargsley Sr. Of Oak Hill, TX passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born on November 5, 1931, in Austin, TX. He was a lifelong resident of the Oak Hill area. He grew up on his family homestead in the old Oak Hill area. He attended school until the 11th grade, then went into the Navy and received his GED.

John worked as a union electrician for 30 years or more and retired in 1991. He loved to fish and he loved taking us on family vacations to the beach his favorite place was Port Aransas, TX.

He is preceded in death by his dad Ernest Bargsley, mom Daisy Mae Smith, infant daughter Patricia Ann Bargsley, his sister Betty Oertli and husband Edwin Oertli, and Brother James Bargsley and wife Mary Helen Bargsley.

He is survived by his wife Rawnie Sue Bargsley, son John Bargsley Jr. and wife Lezlie Bargsley of Blanco, TX, daughter Donna Reeves and husband Barton Reeves of Cabot, Arkansas, grandchildren Jason Waits, Jordan Waits, Ashley Dixon and her husband Daniel Dixon, Dalton Reeves and his wife Stephenie Reeves, Cheyenne Reeves, and great-grandchildren Kamryn Reeves, Lawson Reeves, Harley Harris, Raymond Waits, Jamison Waits, Aidan Bible, and several Nephews.

The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend services for John Bargsley on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Cook/Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM, and the graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM.
