

He is survived by his wife, Norene, son, John Scott Blocker, daughter, Stacey Sensibaugh and son in law Greg Sensibaugh; four grandchildren, Amber Sensibaugh, Meredith Blocker, Chelsea Sims and husband Jason, Matthew Blocker and one great grandchild, Emerie Espino. His parents, John C. Blocker, Mary Louise Blocker; and sister, Bobbie Blocker, preceded him in death.
John is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Lubbock High School, where he played football under Coach Pat Pattison, attended San Angelo College playing football under Coach Max Bumgardner. He began his coaching career in 1957 at Post High School, and coached at Hart, Vernon, Wolforth, Kilgore, Port Arthur, and Fort Stockton retiring from Pflugerville High School in 1990.
John loved his family, friends, sports, coaches, hunting, fishing, camping and Colorado. He was a member of THSCA being inducted in its' Hall of Honor after retirement.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Round Rock Hospital and the Altenheim Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock for their kindness and diligence in caring for John.
There will be a memorial service, celebrating his life at First United Methodist Church of Pflugerville on Saturday, January 28th at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Monte Marshall officiating.
