John Anthony Heckler

John Anthony Heckler, 52, of Austin, Texas, passed away October 14th. John was born on February 15th in Sidney, Ohio. John graduated from Lehman High School in 1979 and later attended college at Austin Community College. After dating for several years, John married his wife, Debra Brown, on February 17th 2006, combining their two families.

John worked at Town North Nissan in Austin, Texas as an automotive parts manager for 13 years. He was a dedicated employee and was loved and respected by his co-workers. Working at Town North allowed John an outlet for his passion in restoring cars and motorcycles. He would often be found in his garage working on a new project with his favorite Metallica album playing in the background. John also had a fondness for the outdoors. He would often be found listening to live music outdoors or around Austin's greenbelts hiking or mountain biking. He was an avid sports fan and dedicated to Ohio State Buckeyes football and Spurs basketball, a dedication he passed on to his son, Jake. He is remembered for so many things; his humble manner, his acceptance of everyone, his home always being open to his children's friends, his love and pride for his family, his passion for sports, his desire to provide a solid home for his family and his love of rock-n-roll music.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Heckler and her children Jessica McDonnel and husband Doyle McDonnel of Austin and their children Nichole and Chyanne; Kevin and Ryan Cougot . His daughter, Hillary Morin and husband Austin Morin and their daughter Layla Morin of Leander, Texas. His son Jake Heckler and wife Andrea Heckler of Leander, Texas and their children Emma and Reid; brothers Robert and David Heckler ; sisters Mary Heckler and Lynn Christopher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Heckler. John's friendship, love and unwavering support will truly be missed.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohman's Crossing, Lakeway, Texas.
