Brother John Thomas McLaughlin, CSC, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence, Austin, TX. Born and educated in Fargo, ND, he entered the Congregation of Holy Cross after high school and made his first profession of vows as a religious Brother in 1950. During his many years of active ministry, he served as a teacher and often as the principal or executive officer at Holy Cross institutions across the Unites States.
Brother John's thoughtfulness, generous service, warm presence, and fun-loving personality endeared him to his extended family, to the institutions he served, and to his Brothers in the Holy Cross community.
Services will be held at the chapel of the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence as follows: Memorial Service, 6:30 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am, Monday, May 16, 2016.
Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, TX.
