

Joseph Allen Faries passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009. He was born January 28, 1918 in Crowley County, Colorado to Archie Dillard and Edith Holmes Faries. Joe is loved by many because of his gregarious, helpful and caring attributes. He is widely known for his abilities in preaching, violin making, woodworking, plumbing, electricity, welding, home building, tooling, engineering, finishing, crafting, designing, mending, doing, thinking, and teaching: a "jack of all trades" and a master of each. Joseph is survived by his wife, Janice, Pixie, his endearing cat, and four sons with their respective wives: Eldon and Virginia of Spring, Texas, Dillard and Sally of Glyn Ellen, Illinois, Glayron and Judy of Lutz, Florida and Allen and Cindy, Austin, Texas: eight grand-children and fourteen great-grandchildren: one brother, David Clyde of Olathe, Colorado: sister-in-law, Vera Faries, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Lee Faries. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX with Pastor David Burkholder officiating, assisted by Mike Fizzel. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, Oak Hill, near corner of Hwy. 290/71 and William Cannon. Visitation will be February 13, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Joe's name be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 1013 Walter Ct., Pflugerville, TX 78660 or the Assemblies of God Mission Fund, 1445 N. Booneville Ave. Springfield, MO 65802-1894.
