

Joyce Earlene Faubion, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Austin, Texas. She was born to the late John Clifton Owens and Evalena Garrison Owens, December 8, 1932, in Temple, Texas. She attended Georgetown High School. She married Donald Craven Faubion in Georgetown on February 26, 1950. Upon retirement from the Internal Revenue Service Center in Austin, she and Donald moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1985. She remains a faithful member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church in San Angelo.
During Earlene’s retirement years she and Donald enjoyed going on roads trips, whether it was a two week trip out of state or simply a day trip close by, she was always ready to go for a drive. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her daughters and granddaughters. Upon her husband’s death in 2015, she moved back to Austin to be closer to her daughters and other extended family. In recent years she enjoyed watching her favorite teams play football and basketball.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald Craven Faubion, parents, John and Evalena Owens, brothers, Clifton Owens and Thurman Owens, sisters, Iva Jo Leach and Doris Simmons.
Survivors include daughters, Debra Ann Faubion of Galveston, TX, and Cindy Barba of Austin, TX, and son-in-law Marcelo Barba; granddaughters, Elissa Collins of San Antonio, TX, and husband Forrest Collins, and Caroline Starr of Washington D.C. and husband Michael Starr; great grandchildren, Bennett Collins, Julian Collins and Sophie Starr; sister, Barbara Friar of Austin, TX. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Earlene will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition Blvd, Austin, Texas 78703. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Bagdad Cemetery, 400 North Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Brookdale Gaines Ranch for the kindness and support they gave Earlene.
