

Juanita Mignon Photopoulos age 86, of Austin passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014. She was born on Monday, April 9, 1928 to Oscar and Etta Marie Davis Lyons in Austin, Texas. She was raised in Austin by her paternal grandparents Oscar and Alma Lyons due to the death of her mother at the age of 17 and graduated high school and went to become a nurse at the old St. David's Nursing School. Juanita loved being a nurse and helping others. Juanita retired from the Austin Humane Service after 25 years, and was a lover of all animals. One of her most loved hobbies was singing and playing the piano, organ, accordion and loved fishing. She was very involved in the Boy Scouts and was a Health Merit Badge Counselor for several years, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was very involved in her children's school activities, the PTA. She was a room mother for every one of her children. Juanita volunteered at the polls for early voting and on election day counting votes and anything that needed to be done.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Photopoulos; grandson, Michael Rosentritt, Jr.; great-grandson, Justin Pete Powell; brother, Gaylen Lyons; sister, Hilda Verdeccio.
Juanita is survived by her children, Donna Marie Langley and husband Bruce, Michael Rosentritt and wife Joyce Rosentritt, Linda Hepler and husband Charles; grandchildren, Michelle Mignon and husband and Brett Foster, Christina and husband Jerry White, Joee Rosentritt, Billy and wife Kristina Hawkins, Tony and wife Darla Poncio, Paul and wife Kelli Poncio, Christa and husband Joe Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Brittany Maestas, Brandon Foster, Christopher Rosentritt, Makenzie Speer, Aaron Sells, Calob Rosentritt, Nathan Rosentritt, Justin Hawkins, Harley Hawkins, Blake Hornback, Khloie Hawkins, Braxton Poncio, Riley Poncio, Ericka Piercy, Isaac Ankeman, Addison Poncio, Pike Poncio, Star Poncio, Brittany, Bethany, Bradley; great-great-grandchild, Luke Maestas; step-son, Anton Brady Rosentritt II and his son, Jonathan; and very special cousin, Joe Umscheid and second cousin, Carrie Umscheid.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Parker Lane United Methodist Church, 2105 Parker Lane with Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas
Honoring Juanita and serving as pallbearers will be Tony Poncio, Paul Poncio, B.J. Hawkins, Christopher Rosentrit, Mack Byrnes, Charles Lucas, Joee Rosentritt. Honorary pallbearers Aaron Sells, Justin Hawkins, Bradley Sanchez, Joe Umschied, Byron Porter Jr.
