Julia Castellanos Reeves

Julia Castellanos Reeves (Miss Julia), was born in Havana, Cuba on March 13, 1918 to Nestor Juan Castellanos and Maria Varona Castellanos. The family moved to the United States in the 30’s, where her Dad accepted a Spanish teaching position at Georgia Military Academy. Miss Julia graduated from Russell High School in East Point, Georgia and upon graduation attended Draughon’s Business College in Atlanta, Georgia. She married Bob Reeves on August 15, 1942 in Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. He passed away on June 4, 2001. Miss Julia is survived by her son, Robert, Jr. and wife, Bonnie of Granite Shoals, TX; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister; a nephew; and a sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother and a daughter, Sylvia who died in 1998. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
