

Karl was born March 18, 1918 in Stuttgart, Germany. He and his mother came to America Sept. 1925 to join his dad in Charleston, Sc. After he graduated from High School his dad got him, a job in the printing business. Karl worked in the printing business for over 40 years. He was a veteran of WWII where he was an airplane instrument specialist. He loved fishing and dove hunting.
Karl was a devoted husband, Father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. He met the love of his life at a USO dance in Dallas, Tx during WWII. They were married for over 60 years before her death in 2005. He was a active member of Hyde Park Christian Church for 68 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Walter and Anna Marie Schlessinger, his wife Pat Schlessinger and his son Don Schlessinger. He is survived by daughter Karla Larson (Jerry), Daughter-in-law Barbara, Grandson Rick Larson (Yazmin), Granddaughters Denise Tucker (Dan), Mary Ann Larson (Rick), Donese Schlessinger (Cyndie) and grandson Andrew Schlessinger (Helen). 10 beloved great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren to honor his legacy.
We want to thank the staff of the Parsons House for their loving care they have given him the last 8 years. That has helped him reach 106 years young. The family would also like to thank Suncrest Hospice for helping him slip away peacefully just like he wanted!
A visitation for Karl will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hyde Park Christian Church, 610 E 45th St, Austin, TX 78751. A committal service will occur Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
