Kenneth R. Kraemer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, passed away April 7th, 2026 in Round Rock, Texas. He was 82 years old. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by those who love him.
Ken was born May 17, 1943, in New York, New York, to parents Paul and Helen (Kochanski) Kraemer. He grew up on Long Island and enjoyed a childhood enriched by a large and loving group of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. In 1961 he graduated from Valley Stream High School and went on to attend Lehigh University where he graduated in 1965 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. During and after his college experience, he was a loyal Lehigh Mountain Hawk (Engineer) always following Wrestling and Lehigh Football.
He received his master’s degree in Engineering Administration, from Syracuse University in 1970, and later obtained an accounting degree from Park College. Always one to enjoy learning new things, he took coding classes – for fun.
Following graduation from Lehigh, Ken went to work for International Business Machines (IBM) in Endicott, NY. In 1986 IBM transferred Ken to Austin to troubleshoot factory issues. Ken enjoyed a long and successful career that included traveling all over the world. Following his retirement after 30 years with IBM, Ken was recruited by Dell Computers to build their State-of-the Art, Round Rock factory. Ken was awarded the factory key because it was finished ahead of schedule and under budget – which was Ken’s way of doing everything. He was fond of “under budget”.
Ken was a man of intelligence, integrity, and faith. He maintained a strong work ethic throughout his distinguished career. He took good care of his family, was a wonderful host, and was quick to forgive. He was loved, and will be greatly missed.
In 2009 Ken was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and it took a devastating toll on his body and his mind. The family will be forever grateful for the care that allowed him to remain at home. Courtney, Milisa, Doloris, Memory, Dorrin, Angel, Miranda, Antoinette, and Jackson cared for him and cared about him. His life was made better by their presence.
Ken is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Baggett-Kraemer; Daughter Cheryl Kraemer; Son Kurt Kraemer (Jennifer); Stepdaughters Keri Stroschein (Eric); Elizabeth Swanson (Brett); Kristine Poland. Grandchildren: Bryce Kraemer, Oliver Swanson, Lillian Poland, Charlie Swanson, Sawyer Poland, and Keesley Strohschein. Brother-in-law David Baggett (Heather); and nieces Jenny Baggett; Holly Puckett (Dave).
Following a family burial service in East Texas, a memorial service will be held at Weed Corley Fish, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. Service information is still pending. Live Streaming will be available and recorded for family and friends who are unable to attend. Please feel free to share pictures and memories on this website.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Ken to First United Methodist Church, 1004 North Mays, Round Rock, TX 78664.
