Kerry Cecilia Oestrick was the most loving, caring person we have ever known. She spread love and joy with ease, and leaves behind an immeasurable absence, but will exist forever in all of our hearts. She always spoke from her heart and had the perfect words to say in any moment. She managed to make everyone feel like they were old friends, no matter if she had just met them or known them for life!
Kerry departed this Earthly world on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at the youthful age of just 58. Her loving parents, John and Sylvia Showers, have to bear the most difficult reality of saying goodbye to their child before her time. However, we do take comfort in knowing she was welcomed into God's kingdom by her only sister, and partner in crime, Tina Cramer, and one of her four brothers, Russell Showers, as well as her beloved mother-in-law, Mary Oestrick. She is survived by her three brothers Darrell Prather, Wendell Showers, and Randall Showers.
Kerry married the love of her life, Joey Oestrick, over 36 years ago and together they created a beautiful life and family. Her husband was her perfect companion and provider, and she loved her children fiercely, with pride radiating from her beautiful face. As an inseperable team, they raised four children, Jenna Smellage, Kara Dawson, Cece Oestrick, and George Oestrick. They have also welcomed three son-in-laws into the family, with open arms. Calvin Smellage, Tory Dawson, and Alex Wallen were all immediately treated as though our family always existed with them.
Kerry was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren whom she loved to spoil and brag about, and whom brought her endless joy. Adelaide Smellage, Michael Dawson, John Dawson, and Evelyn Smellage have had the most perfect Nana who lived by example in teaching them how to love with all of their heart and what pure unconditional love is. She also shared with them a wonderful curiosity and desire to learn, as well as a passion for books and reading!
Kerry welcomed everyone as a friend, and generously shared love with an intimate sense of familiarity most people reserved only for their closest family. Knowing how she embraced all of you, you can only imagine the constant flooding of love her family was receiving! We were always in awe of how much she had to give and how strong of a person she was, and take great comfort in knowing that we will always carry her in our hearts, and had the privilege of receiving her love.
