15 years and I can still remember you singing Avett Brothers like it was yesterday.  
Took a long time to be able to live the dream without you....and it still doesn't feel the same.

I just found out by another friend about Lee's passing.  I just happened to talk to a girlfriend about how he helped me rescue "Lucky" a mix-breed stray who had been hit by a car.  This was about 10 years ago - "Lucky" was only about 1 1/2 years old when she was rescued off the streets (living at Burlington Coat Factory" parking lot.  After 10 years of being the most lovable dog, "Lucky" passed away due to complications with diabetes.  I miss her terribly, but I will always be grateful for Lee.  Rest in peace Lee, we'll miss you.

Lee, your gift to me and to Blue Belle is that her owner, me, learned how to be playful and funny again. How to let her hear my excitement and enthusiasm as her reward (and mine), and I in return, have received the most beautiful and unconditional love that I have ever had in my life. Love you Lee, thank you for taking me in and teaching me a thing or two; still carrying you with me everywhere I go. Moby thanks you, and Pearly Girl thanks you too...glad they got to help you as you helped them. We will never forget Lee and his love for our family of peeps and heelers (& heeler wanna be dogs!)  His twinkling eyes, hearty and heartfelt laughter and acerbic witticisms will help to guide our way for years to come.  We are so the richer for having known Lee!

We and all our furry children will miss you.  Who else will know what "left turn Clyde" means?  and yell at us for not being "more fun then dirt".  You are family and we love you.

Lee was a man of extreme sensitivity, Heart, understanding, and love. He helped me so much with my American Bulldog, Kaie.  I just learned yesterday of his death.  What a tremendous loss for this Earth.  We so need Beings of Light, like Lee, here to help us all. I feel honored and blessed to have known him. I ache for his daughter, Amber.  He adored her.

I am so sad to hear of Lee's death. I hadn't seen him in years, but I remember him fondly.  He used to come into the vet clinic I worked at and was always such a pleasure to chat with.  He also trained some of the dogs that I petsit for and was an absolute miracle worker.  RIP, Lee. You will forever be remembered for all the well-behaved puppies you created! Thanks for the memories!

I didn't know Lee well, but was friends for many years with Pam, the first love of his life and the proud owner of "Langston" the first dog he was around much. My condolences to his friends and family...peace be with you.

I first met Lee in 2002 and his passion for dogs was incredible.  I am saddened that he has left us so soon.  He will be missed in both the human and canine worlds.

I never met Lee, but his story reverberates in my memories of stories my father told me of people with the gift of understanding.  

He has touched the heart and soul of many people I have met.  Our loss in this world is an understatement.

My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends who were closes to this man.  May your remembrance of him be everlasting.

I remember Lee when he was living with his best friend and family, over 20 years ago. We had stopped in for a visit while on one of our cross country travels and had the opportunity to spend some time with him.  He was a bright star but full of it, even back then.  My girlfriend has kept me abreast of his successes all these years, and his loss is like us losing one of our children.  No one should live longer than their children.

Lee, my relationship with my Boxer, Tater, was forever changed by your unique insight and touch. You, Shari and Paul all made such an impact. The saddness I feel is so heavy. God bless you, rest in peace...

Lee, our family will miss you very much. You and your group helped our Schnauzer Chester become the best of friends with our new son Chester. Your assertiveness and dedication to helping our family and thousands of others, will not go unnoticed. We know you are going to a better place, but our best wishes go out to your closest family and friends including the folks at the LMCBB.

Everyday I hear "all you have to do is be funner than dirt," in my head. He taught me the power of ignoring my dog, and moving through her so she didn't have control of our space. And when I realize I'm rambling on about nothing, right out loud in front of my dog, I chastise myself for my "verbal diarrhea." Then I smile, reward her like crazy so she knows she got it right, and smile again.
I adored Lee from the moment I met him.  He earned my respect because of his fiercely relentless love of dogs, and I sent many a dog to him because of that, even though I didn't always agree with his methods.  He was also an ever  enthusiastic supporter of my work with dogs- first with my dog treat business, and now in my service of canine therapeutic massage. I have no doubt he didn't always agree with all of my methods either.
One of my most cherished memories: I carried my aging heeler FORD, because she was not able to walk on her own, to rest under a cedar and observe Clementine in agility class one Spring. Lee asked about her condition, then went on with class. At the end of class he went over, had a moment with her, then was nowhere to be found.  The following week, FORD was up-and-at-em once again and she trotted herself out and under the cedar.  Lee came up to me and said, "When I saw her last week, I thought that was gonna be the last time I ever saw her.  I started crying and had to leave. I can't believe she's back."  Lee shot straight from the hip, and straight from the heart.
We join all the voices and hearts who can't imagine how one so much larger than life is no longer among the living.  Yet we are not without Lee- his wisdom, laughter, anecdotes, and all of our dogs will always be with us, and he'll stay forever young...

Lee...you just completely out did yourself while on this planet.  You will be forever in our hearts and the dogs there in heaven will be safe, happy, and free, just like you.  Wonder how "Too Bad" goes over in heaven?  Thank you Mr. Mannix and I never did quit saying "Sir" when you called me to assit you...it was all about respect and you got that tenfold.   I do have love in my heart for you and thank you for holding me so tight when my Daddy went to heaven.  Look him up there Lee...he will be easy to find as you both were cut out of the same cloth.

Lee...thanks for making me feel like a million bucks and stretching my talents and taking me in as an intern.  There will not be a day that goes by that I will not think of you and take you with me as I work and play with dogs. "Honey, I have a rule.... if you cry, then we have to go drink  and talk about it.  What can I say, I'm Irish"  Lee, at that moment,  I knew I'd found the trainer for me.

Lee was my neighbor for three plus years in Hutto.  He was always welling to help and just a nice guy all the way around.  I only wish I had taken the time to know him better.  May God Bless and keep you safe.

Many years ago, Lee helped us with an erratically agressive little Aussie who'd been abandoned.  Lee thought he could fix the dog, but the rescue group's board decided to have the dog euthanized ... too much potential liability.

I'll be forever grateful to Lee for going to the vet's office and helping us get through that awful experience.  Who else would have done that for one messed up dog?  Only Lee.

Like I said ... this was a long time ago.  We're all a lot smarter about such things now, thanks to Lee and his dedicated staff at LMCCB.  Many thanks.

Thank you for all that you have taught me about dogs, about life, and about myself. Thank you for each and every dog that you helped me turn around and thank you more for the ones you helped me let go of. Thank you doesn't really seem sufficient for everything you've given me, but "thank you" all the same. I hope I can do you proud.

When my eyes fell upon yet another article about Lee Mannix in Tuesday's paper, a smile lit up my face.  Then...... there was no air in the room.

Boone and I signed up for private sessions with Lee this time last year. The problem was Lee's specialty, aggressive behavior with other dogs. My neighbors called him a lawsuit walking!  I can remember Lee saying, " he's acting like a jerk... we can fix him."

The physical ease with which he moved around all the dogs and their reponse to him made me think of the Pied Piper. Peace Always..

You touched our lives and our dogs' lives and for that, we will be forever grateful. You'll be missed!

How appropriate this is for Lee.  He will live on because of what he's done for others.

RIP Lee...been a long time since Permian High School in Odessa.  You were a bright moment in my life.

Boudreaux and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to know and work with Lee. He gave me the gift of a beautiful relationship with my best furry friend. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and trainers. I hope they can take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on in all of the people and dogs he ever worked with. I know that every dog I will ever own will receive the "Lee" touch...what a beautiful gift.

Lee was an amazing person with a gift to teach so much with such a fun spirit.  We trained with Lee way back when he was as Dog Boys and it changed our lives with our dog, Major.  My prayers are covering his family and friends for their great loss.

I am grateful to Lee for sharing his vast wisdom with such humor and heart.  He made such an impact on our lives just by being himself.  I loved that about him, his genuineness, it inspired and intrigued me.  Jr. Mint, Sparky, and I are lucky and grateful to have known Lee. Peaceful blessings!

The last conversation that I had with Lee at Spring Dog Camp 2010 was how much my beloved Spaniel and I had changed since I began training with him and his instructors at LMCCB.  It truly is all about having fun with your dog, and I thank you for that important lesson.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family and staff.  You will be remembered by grateful dog owners and their pets for a very long time.

It is a rare opportunity to cross paths with such an insightful, genuine and gifted soul.  Lee forever impacted my life and I am forever grateful.  My condolences go out to all his friends and family, as well as everyone else who is deeply saddened by his passing.  RIP, Lee.  You will be missed.

Three things I remember Lee saying from my one-on-one consultation with my dog Joey: 1)"Honey, you have a small window of opportunity to get this right," 2) "He doesn't like other dogs. Stop making him like other dogs," and 3) "Joey will be just fine."  At which point I teared up and thought, Lee's going to help me get this right.  And with Lee, Shari, Inka, and Paul's help, we got it right.  Thank you Lee - my heart goes out to your family and friends and everyone at the center.

You made me not only a better dog owner but also a better parent.  "Be fun.  More fun than a cat turd.  And tell them when they get it right."  Right?  I consider myself among the lucky that I got to work on training with you for the short time I did.  David, Sully and I miss you.

You were probably the most real person I have ever met.  Thank you for your help with Chachi and Diego.  We will forever remember you and the wonderful things you have taught us.  You were certainly one of a kind.  I know you will continue making a difference...

Lee was most certainly an influence on us after one seminar about shelter dogs in early 2008 and one day of Spring Camp just a few days ago.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Lee's family and Team.  He is a spirit that will be missed.  His training legacy will live on in all the dogs and families he has helped over the years.
Lee told us he loved what he did and you could see how he connected with every dog at camp that day.  I am very glad we participated and made the long trip.  Chance was plumb wore out after all the fun and activities.

Lee will continue to participate and live on through each act, thought and decision we make with our dogs.  His love, talent, and wisdom have left an indelible imprint in our memories.  We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by him.

What a sad loss for the community...I see you now at the Rainbow Bridge....lucky you...take care of my little kids up there. Thank you Lee for all the good you did while here.

I saw Lee during his aggression seminar held here in Dallas of 2005.  I brought my rottweiler, Khori.  He had me demonstrate what he knew and as a trainer I was eager to show him.  Khori was totally silly and only wanted to play in all of that soft dirt.  Khori never showed his true colors the whole weekend and earned his CGC with Lee.  I remember him saying that once a rottie gets it, they don't forget.  Wish I could have spent more time with him.  He will be missed.

My roommate and I had a pack of 4 dogs between us and we were at our wits ends with fights and behavior issues.  It was at the point that we thought we would have to get rid of our dogs but someone recommended we talk to Lee first.  I remember sitting in his office and just crying because I was so overwhelmed...and he hugged me and told me that there was hope.  And something about him just made me believe.  We started working with Lee, following the program, and taking classes and I saw Lee in action work miracles for so many dogs; mine included.  He touched so many lives and had such a presence about him.  He will be missed by so many but I am so glad that his legacy will live on. In memory of Lee..."Praise your dog, dammit!"

I just dont know why this has to be.  Perhaps God needed help with His hounds.  Love you Lee.

Mannix...my mentor, one of my dearest and most best of friends.  The person in this world that knows me better than anyone.  I'll feel you beside me in all that I do with dogs and thier people...as I continue your work in the passionate, beautiful and skillful way that you've taught me over the years.  I am gutted, I know you would want me to pull it together.  I'll make you proud.  My heart is with you, always.

Lee helped my family when our dog Ginger was going through a hard time and helped evaluate her and gave some input, but indicated to us we didn't need to specifically train her further.  Really good and honest guy! 

Anytime such a significant animal person passes on, the world of animal lovers mourn - as do the animals.  I am sure Dog Heaven, though, is cheering.  Their master is coming home to them!

When I first saw Lee, I wondered how this larger-than-life country boy sporting a cowboy hat and beer belly could possibly know anything about dog. Well, he quickly demonstrated to me just how intuitive he was with dogs. My alpha dog, Max, was showing signs of aggression towards other dogs. Lee quickly put Max in his place and Max loved him. Lee even took Max to his home for a few days to work with him further. He was a great dog trainer anda wonderful person. He will be missed greatly.

Lee taught me a great deal, and Buster, too. His innate ability and sensitivity in improving the relationships between dogs and humans was truly his gift. His charitable giving was widely known throughout the Austin community.
I take comfort in believing he is not without his furry friends, as they share his spiritual space in heaven.

Lee Mannix worked miracles with my abused Border Collie.  He had such a way with animals and was such a nice guy who loved what he did.  He will be missed by many.

I had the opportunity to work with Lee when my chihuahua,SweetPea, had the opportunity to become a therapy dog. Lee managed to get a very small dog and a nervous owner all the way through the training and to a Canine Good Citizens award. He truly had a gift and will be missed by all who knew him. May his family find comfort in knowing how many people and their dogs that he helped and the wonderful memories that they have of him.

The dog community lost a true angel when it lost Lee.  He helped so many dogs by training their humans.  I will be forever grateful for what he taught me.  Rest In Peace Big Man.

Lee was my cousin Larry's son.  He was a great guy with a big heart and he loved his "job" working with dogs.  The family, and especially I, will miss him.

Lee helped us with two of our dogs and I can't imagine our lives without them. For that I am forever grateful. I know there is a special place reserved for Lee for helping so many dogs that could not help themselves.

I attended Lee's Dog Camp in Wimberly, TX with my pooch Annie a few years ago.  Lee knew how much better lessons are received when the students are having fun.  Lee and his staff were remarkable in their ability to share their knowledge.  I began to understand how important it is to train your dog in a way that gets the dog to want to respond. I still have so much to learn about how to communicate clearly with my dog.  I thank Lee and Darryl Bivens, who told me all about him, for turning me into a better dog handler.

My prayers are with his family and friends.

I spent exactly 3 hours with Lee and will never ever forget him. He was a bigger than life guy who quickly took dogs and people into his heart. He will forever be in mine. Everytime I tell my Toby "toooo baaad", I will think of you, Lee.

Lee Mannix helped us save Bosco, our border collie mix, when it appeared that his nervous aggression tendencies would require us to put him down. Lee also rescued about 60 dogs from the flooding of New Orleans, one of whom turned out to be our pointer mix Boudan. And Lee and his wonderful staff helped us integrate them into our pack. Consequently, we have a lot more dogs than I ever thought we'd have, but they live in relative peace and harmony -- unless somebody walks up to our door! Lee was with us all too briefly, but he did a lot of good and we remember him with thanks.

So sad to hear of Lee's passing.  He truly was an amazing human being who was so gifted and compassionate.  He tried to help us with our dogs who constantly fight.  He even took them for a day to observe.  He was deeply saddened that he couldn't break the cycle and we continue to separate our dogs.  I remember him closing the door so his staff wouldn't see him cuddling our 4 lb Yorkies who are "so stinking cute".  Made us laugh. Lee Mannix was a gentle man with a tremendous gift. Back in 2000, he taught me a lot about my own relationship to my dog, as well as solving some aggression issues that we were having. He was the gold standard in Central Texas....Best wishes to his family and all at the LMCCB.

I first met Lee in 2006 when we adopted Major-whose mom was a Katrina rescue saved by Lee. Our paths crossed again in 2009 during my dog training externship. Lee is a big hearted country boy with an incredible passion and gift. Our condolences go out to his staff, family and friends. Thank you for making a difference Lee!

We first met Lee about 5 years ago when our adopted lab Zoe was showing aggression towards our cats.  We were at the end of our rope, and Lee came to our house and immediately knew what the problem was and how to fix it.  We took Zoe and our newest lab Riley through his Adult Basics class.  We learned so much from Lee.  He made the classes fun.  We always knew where to go if we had a problem with our dogs.  Lee will definitely be missed.

Although I never had the opportunity to be "trained" by Lee, I read much about his abilities and know he was excellent at his profession.  Many dogs and dog lovers will miss him. We  can only imagine him frolicking with all of the good dogs that are already in heaven!

You taught me how to deal with my dog through my sister, Jillian. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend years with you rehabilitating her dog, Iggy. I never got to meet you and I'm very saddened that I won't be able to hear what you'd have to say about me and my crazy dog, Molly. I've learned so much just from being around my sister. The impact you had on her life was huge and I know that we will both miss you greatly.

We went to Lee with two dogs with aggression issues. He was their last chance since we could not keep both and couldn't pass along our problem to another home. Had to tell them both Lee had passed over, he saved a life.

Our hearts and our prayers go out to Lee's loved ones and the staff at LMCCB. He was a great man - very generous with his time and a genius with dogs. Gone far too soon, but what an impact he made on the lives of the humans and their canines that were fortunate enough to have met him. We'll be forever grateful. We're very proud of the staff at LMCCB for carrying on his life's work despite the pain of his loss that we're all feeling and we hope to continue Zita's training there soon.

What a sad, sad day and huge loss for Austin's dog community.  It seemed as if I heard about Lee's genius with dogs from the moment I got involved with rescue.  I was further impressed with his kind nature by his sliding scale fees, work with rescue groups and volunteer program with the state hospital.  As saddened as I am, I can't help but smile when I think of all the animals running to greet him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Lee, I will be forever grateful to you for giving Chloe a second chance at life.  You taught me more about dog training in 10 minutes then I had learned in 30 years.  Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us.   We will miss you!

We are greatful to have known Lee and to have worked with him.  He was such an obvious talent and good-natured person. He will be missed by so many people and dogs.  What a tradgedy.

Lee-- we only met you once while at your center, but have seen you do your magic at your center during the time we took Lucky.  Lucky is lucky to have met you, you made a joke about her tail being docked, and also was able to quickly tell us exactly what Lucky likes to do.

We didn't know Lee, but do know his brother, Kevin.  If Lee was anything like Kevin, he was a great person.  We were very deeply saddened by this news.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all family members and close friends touched by this tragedy.  God bless you all.

He gave Dweezil a second chance at life, and changed my life forever. I think I always had a crush on him. He was just so BIG in everything he did. What a sad loss. My heart aches for his family.

As you told us 14 years ago..."that pup is a "firecracker".  RIP, good man, you were the firecracker ... in the right place and at the right time and in the right way.

I meant Lee over 12 years ago when a pit bull mix came into my life. I knew nothing at the time about the breed except what I heard on the news of how dangerous they were. I took Sadie to DogBoys for play group and Lee gave me the reassurance that she was a really great dog. He was right! She was a best dog and I was blessed to have her in my life! As the years went on, I started doing animal communication. There were occasions over the years that I referred clients to Lee because of an unruly canine. He did a great service to many and will be missed by many!

Lee and I use to work together at the Austin Humane Society and we always had so much fun joking around together. He was awesome and I am so saddened to find out that the world will no longer have him in it. All my prayers and condolences to his family.

I am at a loss...really...Lee was so wonderful to work with when he was with the Austin Humane Society.  I was the Associate Director of Day Services at American Habilitation Services; across the street.  Lee took the time to assist me in helping those with disabilities to connect with animals and do something meaningful in the community.We appeared together in Paw Prints Magazine, as I had Awarded him with a Certificate of his Achievements.  Lee was very talented, and will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers to his Friends and Family.
