Lillie Esther Wise Parks, 86, of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Amarillo. She was born on April 30, 1924 in Rogers, New Mexico to John Wise and Susan Elizabeth Ellis Wise. There were nine children born to this union. The family moved to Amherst around 1932. Lillie Esther started school and finished in Amherst. Her family were devout Christians and longtime members of Kinney Avenue Baptist Church and later Woodlawn Baptist Church. Lillie Esther worked 28 years at St. David’s Hospital. She considered all of the members at the Churches she attended and her coworkers at St. David’s Hospital as her family and was so grateful for each and every one of them and also wanted all the people that she met along life’s way to know that she loved them dearly. She felt a special love and appreciation for Harry Bruce Holloway and Dorothy Deal.
Lillie Esther was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, and 7 siblings. She is survived by her sister, Juanita Wise Mears; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Heartfelt thanks to her beloved Pastor Gordon Bergstrom, Maria Hart, and the Sunday School Members for their prayers.
