Linda attended high school at Del Valle High School. She had a deep love for music and began taking piano lessons early in life. Piano, organ, and keyboards were truly her God-given talents. She played beautifully and excelled in high school band, performing on the bells and marimba. Over the years, Linda shared her musical gifts by playing at many weddings and church services. She also had a very beautiful singing voice.
Linda was well known for her amazing (and quite tasty) cutout sugar cookies, which she decorated like no other. Family, friends, neighbors, and customers all looked forward to receiving her special creations, which she shared so generously.
Her greatest joy in life was being mother. Linda’s favorite title was, hands down, “Mom”. She loved her two sons, Ron and James, immensely. Her second favorite role was being “Nana” to her beloved grandchildren: Ron Anthony, Anna Christine, James Jordan, and Raleigh Cheyenne. They brought her endless pride and happiness.
One unexpected day, Linda’s vehicle broke down, and a kind and handsome wrecker driver came to her rescue. His name was Tom, and from that moment on, their love story began. Their relationship grew naturally, and after several years together, they were married. Linda and Tom stood by each other through life’s ups and downs, facing challenges together with strength, love, and unwavering commitment.
Linda loved God deeply and was devoted in her faith. Even during life’s most difficult moments, she remained steadfast and never wavered in her belief.
She also had tremendous love for her family and cherished time spent together. Linda was known for hosting holidays, especially Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving, at her home. These gatherings were filled with warmth, laughter, music, and lasting memories. She always made sure there was more than enough food and desserts for everyone – no one ever left her home hungry. She gave of herself so lovingly and generously.
Linda was preceded in death by her two sons, Ronnie James Handsel, Jr. and James Heath Handsel; her parents, James Edward Redford and Martha Fay Redford; two of her sisters, Mary Evelyn Tschacher and Karen Wood; and her great-nephew, Jacob Phillip Grady.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Turner; her beloved grandchildren, Ron Anthony, Anna Christine, James Jordan, and Raleigh Cheyenne; her siblings, James Robert Redford (Debbie) and, Martha Jean Redford. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Chris Riddle, Deanna Chapman, Melissa Reeves, Jamie Redford, Mike Jones, Jason Redford, Joe Redford, Carrie Wood, Carley Day (Steve), Nathan Redford (Maria), and, Kacy Redford along with a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory and legacy.
Linda went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord, her sons, and her loved ones on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. She passed peacefully while napping in her own home, with her husband and granddaughter nearby.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her strength, her faith, and the love she gave so freely to all who knew her.
