Our butterfly fluttered off to her next beautiful flower garden on February 28, 2018, exactly 60 years after she arrived at this one. She fought hard to make it to that special day, through many maladies and finally lung cancer, which she battled for nearly 6 years.
Diane left behind many friends and family whom she touched deeply. She was able to see many of them at her “life party” in September and shortly before she left us. Diane lost her mother Margueriete Hoffman when she was very young and more recently her older brother Alvin Jr. and her father Alvin Hoffman. She is survived by her brother Coy and his wife Margret, step-mother Charlene Klimitchek, husband Rob Hayden, son Rick and his wife Samantha, daughter Tonya Moody and her husband Craig with Diane’s three grandchildren Kendal, Alexis and Quin. She has also been watched over closely by her grandmother Robbie Gipson who will soon be 104. And not to be forgotten are her close friends Leo and Poppy who were never far from her side.
There will not be a formal service, but a small gathering of family and friends near the final resting place of her many past companions sometime this spring.
Diane was a supporter of the World Wildlife Fund because of their efforts to save her beloved butterflies. A donation to that organization would be a wonderful tribute to her.
