Linda Martinez

Born in Austin, Texas on July 19, 1943 – she was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, colleague, and member of her community. No matter where she lived (Austin, Round Rock, Granger) she loved life and sharing it with others. She was blessed with being able to truly listen and help others through time, prayer, crafts, and correspondence.

Linda’s best working years were spent at the Texas Baptist Children’s Home, being a part of the Family Care Program. After retiring, she came back to volunteer with great joy and enthusiasm. She had a real heart for those around her.

Linda is survived by her husband of 61 years, Martin Martinez, daughters René Kitchen (partner Aubrey Adams) and Kim Martinez (husband Bruce Patterson), grandchildren Justin Kitchen and Jessica Fraley (husband Luke Fraley), and great grandchildren Elliana Bitsche and Adona Fraley. Also surviving are her siblings Robert Arredondo, Rachel Vasquez, Alicia Arredondo, Rudy Arredondo, and Mary Alvarez. Linda was also blessed to have what she called her "Bonus" children -- Sandy Sullivan, Pam Rowe, and Hugo Ramos.

In remembrance of Linda, a service will be held at the Chapel at Texas Baptist Children’s Home at 11AM on Friday, November 21st in Round Rock, Texas. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Texas Baptist Children’s Home.
