

She was born in Covington, Kentucky on May 26th, 1932 to Claude Chester Morehead and
Elizabeth (nee Isabel) "Betty" Rachel Davis. Lois grew up in Covington, Kentucky;
Kansas City, Missouri and Blanco, Texas. She graduated from Blanco High School in
Blanco, Texas. She was married to Leonard Scott (Scott) Smith on June 24th, 1950.
Also to Louis Phil Kahn on July 6th, 1985.
Lois had a career in management for the Internal Revenue Service in Austin, Texas. She
was a member of: Kinney Avenue Baptist Church in Austin and Wellspring United Methodist
Church in Georgetown, Texas. She was a devoted Christian. She had a passion for her family, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, word search and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed years of RV and cruise
travel with her husband, Louis, and also enjoyed wine and margaritas for happy hour at home.
She loved to play solitaire and mah jongg on her computer, was an avid reader of mysteries and loved
to play card games (especially Hand and Foot).
She is survived by her spouse, Louis Phil Kahn of Austin, Texas; son, Robert Scott Smith (Alice)
of the Woodlands, Texas; daughter-in-law, Anne Smith of Niceville, Florida; stepson, Gregory
Louis Kahn (Alexandra) of Austin, Texas; stepdaughter, Janice Louise Love of Portland, Oregon;
stepson, Jeffrey Phil Kahn of Williams, Oregon; 13 grandchildren: Melissa Lastovica (Lance) and Carrie Smith (Garrett Fannin); Scott Smith (Julie) and Robert Smith (Kara); Sara Anis (Idan), Laura (Don)
Tseng and Steven Kahn (Heather Griffin): Joren, Clara and Kauri Love; and Joshua, Laurel (Lucy) and Autumn Kahn. Seven great-grandchildren: Maya and Noa Anis; Kendra, Greyson and Kailey Tseng; Ovidiu (Ovi) Love; and Lily Smith.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Scott (Scott) Smith; son, Leonard Lane (Lane) Smith; her sister and brother-in-law, Dolores June (June) and Carl Wilbur (Wilbur) Hill, and granddaughter, Kara Joann Kahn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials my be made to Wellspring United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas or
Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, Dripping Springs, Texas.
