Lori Marie (Lee) Ponish, 48, of Wimberley, Texas and Reston, Virginia died April 26, 2023 in Bermuda of a scuba diving accident. Lori was born December 17, 1974, in Pasadena, Texas to Ronald and Sandra Lee.
She attended La Porte High School graduating with Honors, elected Most Beautiful and crowned Miss Sylvan Beach in 1993. Lori was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority at Texas Christian University and graduated from TCU in 1997 with a Spanish Degree and also studied abroad during the summer at the Universidad de las Americas-Puebla in Mexico in 1997. Lori pursued her dream of traveling the world employed as a United Airlines flight attendant and found international flights and travel to be her passion for 23 years until her untimely death.
She is preceded in death by her beloved younger sister, Kristi Noel (Lee) Nordstrom.
She is survived by her adoring parents, Ronald and Sandy Lee of Wimberley, TX; her beautiful niece, Heidi Noelle Nordstrom of Bee Cave, TX; her loving aunts and uncles; Allen & Nelda Lee, Jan & Patti Stewart, Terry & Jennifer Edmoundson, and Larry & Lisa Edmoundson; her former husband, Howard ‘Trey’ Ponish III; all her amazing cousins; and precious second cousins and Lori loved them all.
Visitation will be from 5pm- 8pm, Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. Lori’s Services at the funeral home chapel will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 27, 2023 officiated by Pastor Terry Tope with interment at Fall Creek Cemetery in Spicewood, TX.
