Louis Allen McLain

Louis Allen McLain, 84, of Austin, Texas, passed away February 3, 2016. He was born in Victoria, Texas on April 16, 1931. Louis McLain graduated from St. Joseph High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he served for over 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He married Theresa Marie Bain on August 8, 1970.

Louis McLain (Mac) worked for The University of Texas. He was a member of the Optomist Club and had a passion for UT Sports.

He was survived by his children Cathy Thornhill and husband Routt Thornhill Jr., Carl Bain and wife Leslie Bain and Cindy Overby and husband Jerry Overby; grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Caroline and Will Thornhill, Brittany and Michelle Bain, Claudette Longoria, Megham Perkins, Elizabeth Taylor, Ashley Overby, John Allen Overby, and Emily Overby.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family at six o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 5th of February 2016, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 6th of February 2016, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, TX 78731.
