

Louis Barrow Watson was born in the small town of Kingsville, Texas; the fourth born son of James and Ida Mae Watson on December 19, 1939. Louis accepted Christ at an early age. He grew up and attended public school in Kingsville.
Louis was a talented athlete and upon graduating King High School, had the opportunity to play Baseball professionally. Louis, instead, joined the Marine Corp, Service #1811204 and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. After his return from the War, Louis settled in California and spent several years working with San Diego Police Department during the 1960’s.
He was first married to Kathy, with whom he had four children: Paul, David, Amy and Eric. He later married Paula, and together they had Jason. In 1992, he married Cindi, and through this union he gained two Stepsons Clyde and John.
In 1996 he moved his family back to Texas where he enjoyed a number of careers. With a genuine love for music, he relished in singing in the church choir and in retirement, Louis pursued a career in Country Western Music, affectionately known as Country Lou Watson. He also is a founding member of the Absentee Seminole Tribe of Texas and served as Assistant Chief for 8 years.
Surrounded by family, Louis made a very peaceful transition to be with his Lord & Savior on August 26, 2025.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida Mae Watson; brothers James Watson Jr., Robert Watson, Leonard Watson, Edwin Watson, William Watson; and his son Jason Watson. He is survived by his wife Cindi Watson, his children Paul(Shawn) Watson, David (Christina) Watson, Amy (Robb) Rickman, Eric (Kourtney) Watson; grandchildren (Paul) Shelby, Riley, (David) Rachel, (Amy) Lauren, Gabriella, (Eric) Aleksae, (Clyde) Cecilia, Josiah, Taiya, John-Carlton, and (John) Evan, his brothers Samuel (Esther) Watson, Richard Watson, Larry Watson, Malcom (Precious) Watson, Perry (Charl) Watson and sister Janice Greene, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Louis will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750.
