Lydia Johanna Keuser, age 78, of Kyle, Texas passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Lydia was born June 24th, 1943, to Walter and Johanna Stolz in San Francisco, California. She joined her older sister Evelyn as she completed their family. In her early years, the Stolz family enjoyed many vacations to places such as Yosemite National Park. They also enjoyed driving across county to visit friends while camping along the way.
Lydia grew up in the city and attended San Francisco State where she earned a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business. She married Andrew J. Keuser on August 21st, 1966, on Treasure Island and they settled in Sunnyvale and eventually San Jose. Lydia started her teaching career at the high school level and then transferred to San Jose City College where she taught until her retirement. Lydia spent many years raising their two children, working full time while also attending Grad School to earn her Master’s degree. To her family (and likely others) she was a true Wonder Woman.
Lydia enjoyed golfing and traveling the world with her husband and friends, but she truly loved spending her time in dedication to the New Apostolic Church. She spent many years as an organist and choir director in the Campbell congregation where she shared her many musical talents. She was a woman of deep faith and spent many hours visiting elderly members, helping with fellowships, Sunday School, and with Christmas programs. Her faithfulness is an example to all. Especially her children.
Lydia is preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister.
Lydia is survived by her husband, Andy Keuser, her daughter Karey (John) Lucas, her son Kris (Kelly) Keuser. She is also survived and will be missed greatly by her grandchildren, Lyanna (23) and Logan (18) Lucas, Kate (14) and Matthew (11) Keuser. In addition, niece Heidi (Ernesto) Gomez, nephew Gary (Joy) Muenzenberg and great nieces Sheree Brooks, Madeleine Kutz.
We will love and miss you until we meet again.
A memorial service for Lydia will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A reception will follow.
