

P. Magdalena Macias, dearly-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and caring friend was called upon to attend by the Lord’s side on Monday, June 7, 2010. Magdalena was born in San Benito, Texas on November 30, 1930, to the late Maria del Refugio Perez and Gustavo Rodriguez. Magdalena dedicated her life to caring for her husband and children. She was employed at Girling Health Care as a primary care giver for many years and was a long time member of Dolores Catholic Church. Her family and close friends will remember her passion to help others, and for her love of cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ciro Macias and brother, Roberto Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughters, Maricela Macias Cantu and husband Steve G. Cantu, Silvia Macias, Martha Macias Rodriguez and husband Pedro Rodriguez; her sons, Ciro Macias, Jr. and wife Venessa Macias, and Miguel Macias, grandchildren, Yesenia Rocha, Angela Ruiz, John Martinez, Jr., Miguel Macias, II, Cody Macias, Stephanie Cantu, Jessi Macias; nine great-grandchildren of Austin, Texas.
The Macias family extends a special thanks to her friend and compassionate caregiver, Julia Saldana.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 10 at Dolores Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill Park, Pflugerville, Texas.
