Margaret Bishop Arnold died April 4, 2010, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Amarillo, Texas, on October 21, 1921, to Jud and Maggie Bishop. Margaret attended Amarillo High School and Texas Women's University. She was predeceased by her husband, W. J. (Bill) Arnold, who died in 2003, and parents and her two sisters. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steven D. and Rosalie K. Arnold, who reside in Austin, Texas, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four nieces and a nephew. The family plans a memorial service on April 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithville, 300 Burleson Street, Smithville, Texas 78957. Margaret was a loving mother who was active in many community activities in addition to being involved in a career in the financial industry. She began her career in the Trust Department of the Amarillo National Bank, moved to Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union as a loan officer, and later served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union for many years until she retired. She was a Docent at Amarillo Art Center and a member of Junior Travel Study Club as well as the First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo.
