

Born in Konawa, Oklahoma, Margaret's goal was to leave Oklahoma as soon as possible, which she accomplished by moving to Texas at age eighteen and living most of her life in Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Surman, just 50 days before she passed away.
Margaret is survived by her three children, daughter Deeanne Barnett and husband Bobby of Elgin, Texas, daughter Melissa O. Scott and husband Victor of Cedar Creek, Texas and her son, David Fehrenkamp and wife, Joan of Georgetown, Texas. Additional survivors include grandchildren Shane Barnett & wife Mary, Shannon Holubar, & husband Brandon, Christina Boyd, & husband James, Andrew Orscheln & wife Camilla, Victoria Orscheln, Kayla Mixon, and Kelsey Fehrenkamp. Great-grandchildren include Abigail Barnett, Clayton Barnett, Wesley Barnett, Ashlyn Holubar, Hadley Holubar, Benjamin Doyle, and Travis Orscheln Fehrenkamp. Honorary Pallbearers are David Fehrenkamp, Bobby Barnett, Brandon Holubar, and Victor Scott.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at Cook Walden and interment immediately following at Forest Oaks, 6300 West William Cannon. Luncheon provided at 12:30 pm at Cook Walden which will include Margaret's favorite lunch item, hot dogs! All are welcomed.
