

Cecelia attended Palm School, Johnston High School, Austin Community College and UT Austin continuing education, specializing in Geriatrics.
She was employed at The State of Texas Department of MHMR, D & S Community Services as a Group Home Manager, then Assistant Director to Dayhab Entrepreneur. She owned and ran her very own Adult Day Care. She was a lifelong Catholic, who attended and belonged to various parishes throughout her life. A lifelong advocate for mental health and she would regularly attend the Mental Health Day at the Texas State Capitol where she rallied on their behalf. A brief member of the Austin Chapter of the Brown Berets, however as a young mother, she decided to put her family life first. Cecelia remained an advocate for minority affairs by remaining in contact with the chapter members, always vocalizing how she wished she could have been more involved in the minority movement.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Arispe; her mother, Chonita Arispe; her sisters, Guadalupe Arispe, Josephine Rodriguez, Teresa Arispe and Mary Arispe; her brothers, Antonio Arispe and Manuel Arispe.
Cecelia is survived by her children, Joseph Gerard Arispe and wife Rebecca, Juanita Valarie Neidig and husband Harlan, Veronica Gonzalez and husband Francisco; her siblings, Frankie Arispe, Jose “Chepo” Arispe; her seven grandchildren, Veronica O. Arispe, Joseph Arispe, Efrain Loredo, Marissa Loredo, Nicolas Arispe, Jacob Neidig, Emma Neidig; and her great-grandson, Bobby “Louie” Garcia.
Visitation 6:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street.
Honoring Cecelia and serving as Pallbearers will be Joseph Arispe, Efrain Loredo, Nicolas Arispe, Jacob Neidig, Jose “Chepo” Arispe and Frank Arispe Jr. Honorary Pallbearers Harlan Neidig and Francisco Gonzalez.
