

Marian Henry Miller, a long time resident of Austin, Texas passed away quietly at her home on October 16, 2005. She was 96 years old. Marian was born August 17, 1909 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Harvey and Cora Henry. She grew up in Corpus Christi and Dallas, Texas and attended SMU where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Marian married the late Judd Miller of Corpus Christi and they moved to Austin in 1934. She became a member of Saint Davids Episcopal Church and later a member of Saint Lukes on the Lake Episcopal Church. Marian volunteered for many worthy causes and was a charter member of Saint Davids Hospital Auxiliary, the Robins, for more than 40 years. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Judd, her parents, and her sister, Edna Henry Poe. Survivors include sons Judd Miller, Jr and wife Marcia of Rockport and Roy E. Miller and wife Linda of Dallas; grandchildren Judd Miller, III and wife Kristina and Gordon D. Miller and wife Tiffani, both of Houston, Marian Adair Spinks and husband Richard of Streetman, Texas, Roy E. Miller, Jr. and wife Zoe, of Santa Rosa, California, and Guy D. Miller of San Diego, California; great-grandchildren Madeline, Kendall, Natalie, Judd Palmer, Jackson, Katherine, Duncan (all Millers), and Sterling and Cole Spinks; nephews James G. Poe and Patrick H. Poe, and dear friend Norma Hutchinson. Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. A burial service will be held graveside at Austin Memorial Park off Hancock Drive on Saturday, October 22, at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather for refreshments at Marians home on Mountainclimb Drive following the service.
