Marjorie Irene Benner

Marjorie was born in Creedmoor, Texas, the daughter of George Edwin Calhoun and Bertha Estelle Green. She was the 13th child out of 14 children. Times were so hard that the only gift that Christmas was a baby sister and she was forever known as "Sis".

Marjorie was baptized in the Govalle Baptist church, confirmed and married at Salem Lutheran Church. She married Marvin Paul Benner on Christmas Eve, 1949 and that union lasted 57 years until his death on October 3, 2006. They had a daughter named Beverly Gayle Benner and a son named Carroll Ray Benner.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, 8 brothers, 5 sisters and her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Gayle Benner, and son, Carroll Ray Benner; grandsons, Travis Paul Benner, Robert Tyler Benner, Russell Matekja-Benner, Alex Hoeninghaus and granddaughters, Elisabeth Hoeninghaus and Bekka Matekja. She is also survived by great grandsons, Derek Benner and Avery Hoeninghaus and great granddaughters, Anna and Alyssa Benner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those close to her.
