Martha “Betty” (Wentz) McCormick, age 95, passed away the 8th of February, 2012 in Austin, Texas. She was raised in Anaheim and lived most of her adult life in Lakewood, California. Her passing was peaceful and comfortable, and followed a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron “Mac” McCormick, and her brother, Lewis Wentz of Anaheim. She is survived by her son Dean McCormick of Cedar Creek, Texas, grandson Tony McCormick of Marlton, New Jersey, granddaughter Stephanie McCormick of New Orleans, Louisiana, and niece Lynda (Wentz) Abraham of Anaheim.
She was a near “Super-woman” for her first 89 years, until slowed down by strokes. For most of her life, she was helping “Mac the Popcorn Man” in his business, bowling, or playing golf. In retirement the two of them enjoyed traveling much of the continent in pursuit of that little white ball.
Private family services will be held at a later date and will be followed by scattering of her ashes at sea.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances the family wishes a contribution be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
