

Mary Carol Boone, 48, was born on May 13, 1960, and went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2008. She was born in Austin and currently resided in Austin and Santa Barbara, California, after earlier living in Aspen, Colorado for many years. She graduated from Austin High School and the University of Texas and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Carol was the light and delight of her family, possessing an outgoing personality and endearing, infectious smile that attracted friends wherever she went. She loved all types of physical activities including walking, jogging, tennis, swimming, water and snow skiing, hiking and particularly being outdoors surrounded by nature. From a young age, Carol was a gifted photographer engaging in all types of nature photography and later developing great expertise in underwater photography. In pursuing her photography, she attended the Brooks Institute of Santa Barbara and traveled the world with renowned underwater photographers diving in the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, Yap, the Truk Lagoon and other mystical locations reveling in underwater exploration. Carol was totally devoted to her parents and family and traveled extensively with her parents and often her brother and sister-in-law to Russia, Japan, China, the Middle East, Egypt, Europe and Scandinavia living her "free spirit" life. Carol's greatest love in recent years, along with her family, was her dog, Toby, who was a constant companion and dear friend. Carol is survived by her parents, Arthur and Mary Boone of Austin, her brother Bill and Ann Boone of Austin, her brother Jim and Susan Boone of Houston, her niece Mary Nell and Doug Suell of Houston, her niece Jenny Boone of Austin, her nephews Trey and Ty Boone of Houston, her great nephews Doug and William Steen Suell of Houston, and her great niece Sarah Jane Boone Suell of Houston, as well as other extended family members. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Hyde Park Baptist Church. A private family burial will be held at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made either to the Austin Steam Train Association, which her father helped found, P.O.
