Mary began her glorious life on July 26, 1954, in Victoria, Texas, and was the daughter of William Martin and Judy Gass. She had two sisters, Sandy and Nancy, and one brother, Ricky. Mary was the wife of Woodrow Clyde Chamrad for 49 years, and together, they shared two daughters, Julie Chamrad Rosette and Amy Chamrad Van Lenten. Mary had two son-in-laws, Benjamin Rosette and the late David Van Lenten. Mary and Woody shared three grandchildren: Alexis, Bryson, and Chance. Mary’s early endeavors included a passion for helping others by attending nursing school. Mary’s career encompassed professional aspirations in research, medicine, technology, and caregiving. Despite Mary’s various professional endeavors, she never gave up desire, commitment, and passion to care for and bring joy to others. Mary found she had fully fulfilled this lifelong dream by providing home healthcare to those in need. Mary was the most incredible soul one could ever encounter. She was brilliant in various ways to many individuals throughout her life. Although Mary would say she never felt she was the smartest person, she showed the world otherwise. She was the bright ray of sunshine on the cloudiest days. Mary was a committed wife, a devoted mother, a loving sister, a daughter, a friend, and an exceptional nana. Mary’s love and compassion was the motivator in all she accomplished. Her family was vital to her existence, and she made this known by simply stating, “You are enough.” While Mary dedicated overtime at her jobs, she spent endless hours proofreading homework, critiquing her children’s music skills, and discussing their day’s activities. She searched for witty ways to enrich Amy and Julie’s daily life, aspirations, and goals. She gave her undivided time and energy to her grandchildren by cooking with them, playing at the park, and creating countless memories. Mary (Nana) was adored and loved by her grandchildren. Her sense of humor, quirkiness, and ability to make unforeseen puns brought some of the biggest smiles to her family’s faces. Colleagues, friends, and family can recall countless memories filled with smiles, robust laughter, and laughter pains. Mary’s mere presence enriched every life she touched. She will forever be in our hearts and forever missed. Mary’s loved ones are grateful for every ounce of love she gave us. Mary, Mom, and Nana said it best, “I will always love you unconditionally.”
