She was born September 4, 1952 in Williamson County, TX. She was a longtime resident of Austin, TX. Mary was one of eleven children born to Encarnacion Pardon Lucio and Maria Martinez Lucio.
Mary Ellan Cruz was a widow and she was married to Jesse Cruz from Corpus Christi, TX. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Lucio, Pete Lucio, and Encarnacion Lucio, III.
Nena is survived by her brothers, Wally Lucio and wife, Nori, of Corpus Christi, and Steven Lucio of Lubbock; sisters, Frances Lucio and Carmen Lucio Asebedo of Austin, Lucia Lucio Martinez of Lubbock, San Juanita Lucio "Janie" of Chicago, Il, and her youngest sister, Nancy Lucio of Kyle; and many nephews, nieces, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who loved their Tia Nena very much.
A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pete Lucio, Jr. and Christy Lucio.
