

Mary Elizabeth Pincoffs died peacefully on June 15, 2011, surrounded by family. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1920, to Ruth and Robert Eugene Zimmerman, Mary Elizabeth grew up on the banks of the Severn River and on Dalton Farm, near Baltimore, Maryland, with her brothers Gene and Tom. She attended the Maryland Art Institute and in 1940, graduated from the University of Maryland. In 1948, Mary Elizabeth married Edmund Lloyd Pincoffs of Houston, Texas.
Preceded in death by her husband Edmund, in 1991, and her brother Tom, in 2009, Mary Elizabeth is survived by her brother Eugene and his wife Rosalind (Edmund’s sister); and her three children, Ruth Posey and husband Bill Boicourt, Edmund Peter and wife Louise Gose Pincoffs, Mary Elizabeth and husband Will Wilson. Her grandchildren are: James Peter Boicourt, Katharine Elizabeth Boicourt, Martha Gose Pincoffs, Laura Elizabeth Pincoffs Clarke, Edmund Peter Pincoffs , William Reid Wilson, Thomas Lloyd Wilson, and Robert Edmund Wilson. Mary Elizabeth also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Shepherd Stevens Clarke and Posey Lanier Wilson and a host of much-loved nieces and nephews. In her family she leaves behind a legacy of love of family, art, music, and the world around her.
