A beautiful lady left the arms of her family to join her heavenly family on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Mary Rebecca McAllister Sellstrom was born March 17, 1914 in Manor, Texas to Mary Rebecca (Templin) McCalester and J.Z. McCalester. She grew up with love in her heart and a twinkle in her eye, which she carried with her throughout her life. She married S.A. (Buddy) Sellstrom on November 30, 1944. "Mimmie" and "Momsey" to her children, Sue and Richard (TR) and grandsons, Caleb and Thad, she lived her life with grace and dignity. Mary retired from Southwestern Bell after 42 years of service. Upon retirement she expanded in fellowship with church and community life, and in helping and caring for others. She brought her charm and loving kindness to all her activities and was beloved by all who knew her. She particularly delighted in playing dominoes anywhere she could bring a group together. In the last year, she was cared for at home by loving family and friends, old and new, continuing to play dominoes until the last week of her life. Always a cheerful and upbeat personality, her smiling face will live in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her for many years to come. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. In her memory, donations can be made to Elderhaven (Austin Groups for the Elderly), Circle of Friends (supported by Temple Beth Israel, contact Faith Steinberg) or The Gathering (supported by West Lake Presbyterian Church, contact Debbie Wilder).
